It was at my first Youth 2000 retreat during the summer of 2007 that I came to know the love of God
Hi everybody! My name is Eoin Casey and I’m from Laois. I’m 21 and the oldest of two. I’m blessed to have grown up in a loving Catholic family and I continue to thank God for my wonderful parents and brother. When growing up as a young lad I was close to God, as my parents taught me my prayers and brought me to Mass every weekend. I can say I knew God, but not as my closest friend but simply someone that I pray to.

Looking back, the change that has taken place in my life has been phenomenal !Hey y’all!! My name is Emma Sisk. I’m 18 and currently a Bachelor of Arts student of Mary Immaculate College, Limerick.
I first heard about Youth 2000 last year when my RE teacher came into class and read an article she came across in a newspaper about a retreat for young people. It was to be held in Mount Mellery, Co Waterford the following weekend. Something inside me stirred and I was filled with a desire to go to that retreat. The only problem was I couldn’t convince any of my friends to go and no way was I gonna go on my own!! So Friday and Saturday passed and I couldn’t shift the longing in my heart to go to Mellery. Eventually on Sunday I gave in and headed to the retreat…

He said ‘I’ll give you a peace the world cannot give’ and I have learned just how true that is
My name is Diarmuid Clifford and I’m from Galway. I’ve just one brother, who’s older than me, and I’ve no sisters. I’m working as a translator between English and Irish and I’m still living in Galway.

I too am now filled with great joyHey everyone, hope you are keeping well! My name is Maura Garrihy and I am 18 years old. I live in a lovely part of the country-Ennistymon in County Clare to be exact and I am sitting my Leaving Cert this June! I attended my first ever Youth 2000 retreat over 2 years ago and I can honestly say it was one of the BEST decisions of my life. I was blessed to be brought up in a Catholic family but I truly hadn't experienced a personal encounter with Christ until my first Youth 2000 retreat.
